About Plastron
Plastron is a free, non-custodial wallet screening tool at plastron.wtf. It checks Ethereum and six supplementary EVM chains for AML and KYT risk — sanctions exposure, mixer contact, and stolen-funds proximity — and returns a risk report in seconds. It reads public on-chain data only: it never takes custody of funds and never asks for private keys.
How the risk score works
A scan reads the wallet's public transaction history and screens every counterparty against a labeled address corpus. Direct matches (for example an OFAC-sanctioned address) weigh more than indirect, multi-hop exposure, which is traced with a proportional value-share model and capped by materiality rules — a single dust transfer does not make a wallet criminal. The composite score maps to Low, Medium, High, or Critical, and each factor that contributed is shown in the report. Read more in what a crypto risk score is or run a free scan.
Data sources
The labeled corpus combines the U.S. Treasury OFAC SDN list (refreshed daily), community threat-intelligence lists (ethereum-lists, CryptoScamDB, Forta and similar), first-party protocol registries for exchanges, bridges, and DeFi contracts, and Plastron's own on-chain heuristics. Sources are tiered by trust: an uncorroborated community report can never outweigh an official designation, and a verified-infrastructure allowlist prevents any source from mislabeling canonical contracts.
Editorial policy
Every blog post passes a deterministic editorial gate before publishing: length and structure checks, a ban on unverifiable claims and marketing vocabulary, required internal sourcing, and schema markup. Posts cite official primary sources for any designation or enforcement claim. Each article carries a standing disclaimer: content is educational, not financial, legal, or investment advice, and views are the author's own. Corrections: info@plastron.wtf.
